Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Obstructive sleep apnea, or OSA, occurs when the muscles and soft tissues in the throat relax during sleep and repeatedly narrow or block the upper airway. Breathing may become shallow or stop temporarily, often causing loud snoring, gasping, choking, and disrupted sleep.
